M is for Matisse

More to the point, M is for manipulating a Matisse style paper cut I created for a summer class.

With the ability to view the gorgeous Matisse exhibits at distant museums this summer, I have been once again moved and inspired by the gorgeous paper cuts he created. I used this technique in classes I took this summer, and often in classes I teach.

This morning I revisited a favorite pear inspired collage in the style of Matisse and played with it in several digital modes. This version - so bright and sunny feels like the perfect post for a dreary day.
