Great Children's Art Classes Begin in January

There will be painting and drawing and even monotype printing in the next series of my children's art classes at Multnomah Arts Center. There is even something new and different added for teens - Fashion Art.

Classes begin on Monday, January 6th so register now.
Young Artists—Drawing & Painting
Action! Brushstrokes! Beautiful lines and wild shapes! Develop skill in composition, color mixing and putting thoughts and feelings into your work. Experiment with materials such as paint, markers, acrylics, tempera, and pastels. Explore faces, places, flowers, fish, abstraction and more.

New! Fashion Art for Teens
This class is an introduction to the art (and business) of fashion. Through a variety of art projects, try your hand at fashion sketching, clothing and fabric design, display and marketing design. Working from lots of resources, explore sources of inspiration from history and from today’s influences, and the importance of design elements such as color, line and composition in visual presentations.

Upcoming Art Class for Adults



Adult Artist’s Studio: A Palette of Possibilities

Abstract Floral
This class is an opportunity to develop and build your drawing and painting skills and learn the design techniques to bring creative ideas to life. A variety of tools and media including paint, pastels, markers and color pencils will be used to create a variety of unique and beautiful projects. All materials are supplied

Adults 18+

Instructor Tobi Kibel Piatek is a lifelong artist and designer with a degree in Fine Arts. Her lively classes stimulate ideas and creativity.

UPCOMING CLASSES for Creative Kids


SUMMER ART WORKSHOP for CREATIVE KIDS
Young Artist’s Studio: Painting

Bring on the paint, the brushes and the fun. In this workshop, young artists (Grades 1 – 6) will:
  • Use paint, brushes and other tools to create line, shapes, patterns and texture.
  • Consider how simple lines, shapes and color combine to create works of art.
  • Discover the joy and technique of using color.
  • Observe and talk about the work of famous artists.
  • · Share our work and learn ways to talk about what we see and like.
The studio atmosphere is designed to encourage creative expression, shared ideas and flexible thinking, and offer opportunities for students to see and think about the visual world in new ways.
 
All materials provided.

WHEN: Four classes: 10 am to Noon
 
Session 1: Monday June 18, Wednesday June 20, Monday June 25, Wednesday June 27

Session 2: Monday July 16, Wednesday July 18, Monday July 23, Wednesday July 25

About the teacher: Tobi Kibel Piatek enjoys teaching creative kids. She is a lifelong artist and designer, with years of experience teaching, and teaching about, gifted kids. Her lively classes stimulate kids’ ideas and encourage them to think creatively and critically as they work on challenging and interesting art projects. She has a degree in Fine Arts from Pratt Institute in New York.
